It’s important to DP Energy that all local communities are well informed about our projects and that anyone who is interested, gets a chance to comment on and input to the project as it progresses.  Your feedback is very important to us, so that is why Lisa Enright DP Energy’s Community Liaison Officer and Yvonne Cronin DP Energy’s Community and Stakeholder Liaison Manager attended the Ballymaloe 3-day May Fair earlier this month.

It was fantastic to meet so many local communities’ residents to discuss the upcoming publication of the Inis Ealga Marine Energy Park Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Report in July. This report will set out the proposed scope of work and methods that will be applied in the development of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report, which is a report of the effects which the proposed project, if carried out, would have on the surrounding onshore and offshore environment.

We have had a fantastic opportunity to join forces with STEAM Education to launch a series of Green Energy and Climate Action Education Programmes to inspire the next wave of climate scientists, engineers and artists. The programme engages 4th to 6th class students in local schools along the South Coast with some of the most pressing issues facing the world today. Through a range of participatory activities and creative and scientific processes, the children are supported to understand the key issues about the Climate Crisis and encouraged to engage in positive climate action in their schools, homes, and wider communities.

The DP Energy and Iberdrola team would like to thank all the local community members who braved the cold weather and took the time to visit our Community Liaison Officer Lisa at her stand at Midleton Farmers Market back in February.

We are passionate about involving local communities in our projects through information sharing and receiving feedback.

A massive thank you to Kevin Day and all the staff of Day’s Eurospar for giving our Community Liaison Officer Lisa an opportunity to speak to the local community in Aghada about the Inis Ealga Marine Energy Park project!
